Country Boys

When photographing little ones, I find it is a careful balance of playing with toys, chasing, rough housing, letting them explore my equipment, all the while capturing these moments in time on the camera hanging on for dear life to my neck! It was so much fun spending the morning with these boys and their momma. Melt my heart, these images are precious!!

Thank you so much for sharing your little ones with me S.! I can't wait until next time!!

Mandy's Maternity Session

There were so many events leading up to this shoot, that we almost missed our precious window. First there was a snowstorm... An epic snowstorm that made it impossible for us to get to each other. So we rescheduled; for the only day either of us had free. 2 weeks before the baby was scheduled to arrive. I left them saying: "Enjoy the next few weeks" only to get a text the next day from the momma saying she was experiencing labor. Sure enough, little Peanut arrived just two days after our maternity session. Phew!! We barely squeezed it in!

Brutha's 4 Life...

Spending time with seniors is probably the most fun I have as a photographer. They are usually up for my crazy adventurous ideas, and we have a blast laughing. If we could all just go back to that awesome point, being 18, carefree, having the time of our lives.

Sydnee and her friend Savanah (or "brutha's" as they called each other) spent the day with me and we had so much fun. Froze our tookus' off, but fun none the less.

Thanks Guys, I had so much fun with you!! Have a great summer!

Mountaintops & Coffeeshops

Winter may not seem like an ideal time to take senior pictures, and to tell you the truth, it's usually when most photographers take a hiatus. Can you blame us?

But I promised Savanah that when the time came, I would do her photos. The time came, she was in town, willing to brave the cold, traversing mountaintops and coffee shops with me to deliver these rad photos.

Savanah, I wish you all the best!

Look How Far We've Come...

I enjoy this family so much. I have photographed each of their children since their births, and so when Brittany approached me about doing a fun shoot to mark their 10th Anniversary, I was more than excited!

She totally rocked her wedding dress again... which was a big goal that she accomplished, after having two adorable littles.

Of course, we had to have SOME fun with it too...

After a quick wardrobe change and a PBR:

That last one, yeah, that's my favorite.

10 Years, 2 Kids - You guys still have it going on!

Give Me A Tin Roof, A Front Porch & A Gravel Road

What a wonderful weekend we had with Amy and her family! Amy is one of the coolest people I have ever met. She loves living in the "Boondocks" as I affectionately call them, getting her milk, cream (which is so thick you have to use a spoon to scoop it) eggs, vegetables and chicken from a local Amish farm. It's an experience to sit at her kitchen table, drinking hot tea, while she makes kettle corn from scratch, or some other lovely concoction that is beautiful and delicious.

Her log cabin boasts many murals, as she is a talented artist. (I actually commissioned her to do one in my son's room many years ago). So as you can see, I look forward to my travels there to photograph her family as much as they will have us.

Until Next Time...

" Let's Play Dress Up..."

One of the quintessential "girl" activities is playing dress up. It's the fond memories that we look back on, a time when our imaginations took over and we lost ourselves in worlds and places that only we know. That's what this momma had in mind for her daughter's shoot. I will say, this Little Miss was resilient! She barely whimpered through 12 dress changes. Yes, 12. :)

When we departed, the house a sea of tulle, taffeta, and lace; the world seemed a little bit more whimsical, and our hearts so full we thought they'd burst. I have a feeling this baby girl will have many more "Dress Up Days" in her future.

I thought this photo was so sweet. These kids are so loved, it just makes my heart swell.

Thank you for letting me capture your little ones at such a precious age!

Much Love,
Beth
